South's initial pass is to allow West, North and South more about their hands. A
penalty double may be an excellent alternative for 3NT.
3D = Limit raise, like most other jump cues
opposite an overcall in a suit.
South double should show an initial trap pass, for with a 4-card
ª-suit, he will go for the negative
double 9 out of 10 times.
North decides to pull out to 3NT, since he has his doubts about setting 3© by 4 tricks, as is needed for a good score.
More analysis to follow.

2¨ = Michaels cuebid: showing 5/5 or better
in the majors.
2ª = Taking preference.
3© = Showing a heart
stopper. An excellent treatment, that gives East the chance of showing his ª-stopper by bidding 3ª, so that West can bid 3NT and get the opening lead to him.
3ª = Promising a spade stopper, proving to have
read the message.
More analysis to follow.

East choses the single cuebid in order to find the 4-4 ª-fit, if it's there. After West's 3© (2© would be a gross
underbid), East raises to game without fear.
