Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- 3NT pass 4§
pass 4¨ pass pass
pass.

3NT = Replacement of ordinary 4§ and 4¨ openings, which we use to show solid 8-cards majors with no aces or kings in the other suits. This opening bid makes life a lot harder than 3¨.

5¨, by the way, should not make: § to queen, spade the king, ¨K to the ace, § to the jack, and §A for off two. We wonder how many EW pairs found this defense.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- --- --- pass
1§ 1© dbl pass
2§ pass pass pass.

East double = negative, showing a 4-card ª-suit, or 12 or more hcp, or both.
West has nothing left but to rebid his 5-card §-suit, for 2¨ would be reverse, as in 1ª-1ª-2¨.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
pass 1ª pass 3§
pass 3¨ pass 4ª
pass pass pass.

3§ = Bergen raise: 4 or more spades, balanced hand, 6-9 hcp.
3¨ = General game try, since there is little room for short or long suit game tries. Of course, a short suit game try in ¨ would work best here, but there would be no room for such trial in §. So it looks as if general game tries work more often.
4ª = This time, South wants to be in game regardless of what sort of above minimum North brings.
