Who has the balance of the strength, and who is sacrificing? If the answer can't be
given, it is often wise to try to take the bidding beyond the level of making of the
opponents. The other reason is, that a misguess on the opening lead may cost 30 imps or
more (like -15 instead of +15 imps)..
More analysis to follow.

2¨ = Multi-colored: weak-2 in
a major, or one of many strong types of hands.
2© = Signoff opposite weak-2 in hearts.
3NT = Balanced hand with 26-27 hcp. If North has a 5332-pattern, he should bid as if he
held a 1-suited gameforcing hand.
4¨ = Jacoby transfer to 4©.
5§ = Natural. Of course, it would not make much
sense to introduce a second suit at the level of 5, without having some slam interest.
More analysis to follow.

1NT = One of several types of hands, less than 4 hearts, 5-11 hcp.
If East doesn't interfere with 2¨, South must
rebid 2§, for 2ª would still be reverse, i.e., a hand with 16-19 hcp. In order to
avoid having to rebid a 3-card minor, or even a doubleton of clubs, when partner responds
with a forcing 1NT, many partnerships use the Flannery 2¨- or 2©-opening: 5©, 4ª, and
11-15 hcp.

1NT = Sort of Unusual NT, showing 5+ in both unbid suits. When both
opponents have bid, there is no need to jump overcall 2NT.
