Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- 1© pass 1NT
pass 2¨ pass 2©
pass pass pass.

1NT = One round force, i.e., several types of hands, and 5-11 hcp. Bergen raises require 4-card suits, and 2© is kind of chicken.
2¨ = A jump rebid of 3¨ requires 17 good hcp at least.
2© = South must downgrade his hand for his stiff king in partner's second suit, and his 3 baby trumps.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- --- pass 1©
pass 1ª pass 3¨
pass 4© pass pass
pass.

3¨ = 2¨ would be an underbid with this nice 17-count. A stiff ace in partner's suit is not nearly a waste as a stiff king or queen.
4© = Signoff. 3© would be slamtry.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- --- --- pass
pass pass 1NT pass
2© pass 2NT pass
4© pass 4ª pass
pass pass.

1NT = We tend to upgrade 5332-hands with 17 hcp, but we must be cautious with queen-doubletons.
2© = Jacoby transfer to 2ª, promising 5+ spades and unlimited hcp count.
2NT = The way to 'reject' a transfer with 17 hcp and 3-card support for the suit transferred to. With 4+ spades, we would 'reject' with 3ª.
4© = Repeating the transfer to make the much stronger East declarer. 4© can never be misunderstood, for it makes no sense to search for another fit, when the 8-card fit in the (other) major has been proven.

More analysis to follow.
