Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- 1ª pass 1NT
pass 3ª pass 4ª
pass pass pass.

1NT = One round force, having one of several patterns, and 5-11 hcp.
3ª = 6 or 7 spades, 15-17 hcp. We prefer the highly invitational jumprebid to the non-forcing rebid of 2§. 3§ is out of the question, for that requires a good 17 count or more.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- --- pass pass
pass pass.

East and South are not strong enough to open in first or second chair. This results in a pass-out. The majority of the field still decides to open in first or second seat. Perhaps these players have forgetten about Law 22A, that explicitly prohibits reshuffling on pass-outs, or wrongly trusted the duplicators to have taken out the computer-dealt boards that were likely to produce pass-outs.

Analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
--- --- --- pass
1§ 1ª dbl 3ª
pass pass pass.

Dbl = East is not strong enough for a negative free bid of 2©, he has little defensive potential against a ª-contract, and 1NT would be a great distortion of his ©-length, so the negative double is his best alternative.
3ª = Semi-preemptive. South can have a nice hand, but he has no interest in game, unless North comes up with at least a good 15 count.

More analysis to follow.

Recommended bidding sequence:

West North East South
1ª pass 2¨ pass
3§ pass 3ª pass
4ª pass pass pass.

2¨ = In our system: forcing to game.
3§ = The early game force lowers the range of this rebid to 12 hcp. If 2¨ would only show 10+ hcp, the high reverse of 3§ would require at least 14 good hcp.

More analysis to follow.
