North should downgrade for his 3433-pattern, and not open 1§.

2NT = Two lower unbid suits. In fourth chair, this action is
constructive, not preemptive.
4© = Should stand a fair chance, even opposite
a minimum for the 2NT-overcall, which North has indeed.

2¨ = Multi-colored.
South will have a weak-2 in a major about 90% of the time. Several types of hands too
strong to open with at the 1-level, account for the remaining 10%.
2© = Definite signoff opposite
a weak-2 in hearts, but could still be invitational opposite weak-2 in ª, in which case it will go 2¨-2©-2ª-3ª.
2NT = Some 4441-hand containing 20-22 hcp. South downgrades 1 point for the stiff queen.
3§ = Asking for the suit below
the singleton.
3© = Singleton of spades.
Many users of multi 2¨
still use a range of 16-24 hcp for their 4441-hands. This hand proves the ineffectiveness
of such wide ranges. We would open at the 1-level with 16-19 hcp, and 2§-2¨-2© (singleton in any suit but hearts) or 2§-2¨-2ª (singleton in hearts) with 4441-hands and 23+ hcp.
In Precision, we would proceed 1§-1¨-1© or 1§-1¨-1© with
16-19 hcp, open multi 2¨
with 20-22 hcp, and proceed 1§-1¨-3 in the suit below the singleton with 23+ hcp.

2ª = Muiderberg weak-2,
i.e., 5-card ª-suit, 4+ of a minor, and 5-10
hcp.
3¨ = Normally showing 5+ suit and 12-15 hcp,
but with the excellent 8-card ¨-suit makes up
for the missing hcp strength. North hopes South can bid 3NT over his overcall, which he
will be very glad to pass out.
Dbl = Sort of competitive
double, showing 3+ ª-support, and
invitational strength or better, at the same time. A raise to 3ª would be preemptive. A raise to 4ª can be both constructive and preemptive, but requires 4+ support.
3© = 5+ suit and forcing. North may still have
3-card support.
4ª = Accepting East's invite.
5¨ = It would be foolish to surrender at this
point. West is likely to make his game, but 5¨
will never go for a number.
