In general, a jump cue shows limit raise or better in partner's suit. The exception is,
where partner opens 1 of a minor, and the jump cue would be made at the 4-level. In that
case, you bypass 3NT, usually your first option, when there is no fit in the majors. If
you want to investigate 3NT, you will have to try something else, like a negative double
or cue without jump.
Here, North's message sounds like: "Either bid 4 of a major, or I will come across
the table!" We will look at the play of 4©
